$10M Authorized For Huntington Station Armory Transformation
The center will be used for various recreational and community activities, the Town says.

The Huntington Town Board authorized the spending of $10 million to transform the New York State Armory on Fifth Street in Huntington Station into the James Conte Community Center.
The construction spending was approved at the Town Board meeting on Tuesday, April 4. Out of the $10 million, $8.5 million will be raised from the sale of bonds. Also, $1.5 million in state aid was previously secured for design work and construction to renovate the building, the Town says.
The Town has owned the Armory since 2013 and has since completed environmental remediation, such as removing asbestos, lead paint and mold.
