1st Ever Army/Navy Football Game To Be Held By Town Of Huntington
The Harborfields High School Tornadoes (Army) are set to face off against Deer Park High School Falcons (Navy) in Greenlawn.
GREENLAWN, NY — The first ever Army/Navy football game is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the James T. Brennan Memorial Stadium at Harborfields High School. The game will be hosted by the school and the Town of Huntington.
The Harborfields High School Tornadoes (Army) will face off against Deer Park High School Falcons (Navy).
This inaugural high school football event will be played annually in remembrance of Fred Amore of East Northport. Amore was a Vietnam veteran, Purple Heart recipient and the longest-serving commander of VFW Post #9263 of Elwood/Commack. He also served as vice chairman of the Huntington Veterans Advisory Board and the committee that selects military academy appointees.

Amore died of COVID-19 on Feb. 28, 2021. He was 73 years old.
Highlights of the event are set to include veterans of all wars being present, a ceremonial coin toss, a patriotic half-time performance by Harborfield’s High School Marching Band, and introductions of high-ranking military personnel.
