2 Harborfields Girls Place At Long Island Wrestling Championships
The students placed first and third in the islandwide competition.
GREENLAWN, NY — Kaitlynn Carrion and Kaitlyn Costa, student-athletes from Harborfields High School, placed in the Long Island Girls Wrestling Championships in Rocky Point in February.
Carrion placed first in the 145-pound category, while Costa placed third in the 152-pound ranks.
Carrion pinned Perla Rivera of Central Islip in 4:50, while Costa beat Tamia McKay of Walt Whitman by forfeit.

Earlier this season, at the Steven Mally Memorial Girls Division at Harborfields on Jan. 21, Carrion took first and Costa second, with Carrion named Most Outstanding Wrestler.
At the Queen of the Mat competition at Copiague on Dec. 3, Carrion finished in first place and Costa in third.

"It has been an incredible season for our girls and we are so proud of them," Athletic Director Rob Franco said via news release. "Great job, ladies!"
