2 Hurt In Head-On Huntington Crash

One person was seriously injured in the crash Monday evening. The Huntington Fire Department was on the scene within three minutes.

HUNTINGTON, NY – Two people were hurt, one seriously, in a head-on crash in Huntington Monday evening, authorities said.

The Huntington Fire Department was alerted to the two-car collision with reports of victims trapped and an ejection in front of 71 West Shore Road at 6:57 p.m.

Fire department units were on scene within three minutes of the alarm and found one victim in each car with no ejections.

Huntington firefighters secured the vehicles and used heavy rescue tools on one car to extricate a person with serious injuries. The second victim suffered minor injuries.

Both people were transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad. Suffolk County Police was also on the scene assisting. Huntington Fire Department units operated under the command of Chief of Department Jesse Cukro and aided by Assistant Chief Rob Conroy and Second Deputy Chief Brian Keane.
