HUNTINGTON, NY — Three girls from Girl Scout Troop #688 presented their Health & Safety Activity Booklets at Huntington Hospital on Friday to complete their Silver Award project.

Megan Condolff, Alexa Green and Sienna Kerr, who are eighth-graders at Oldfield Middle School in Greenlawn, presented the booklets to Dr. Michael Grosso, medical director at Huntington Hospital.

The girls worked with Grosso and Kathryn Kalb to create a booklet for the Pediatric Emergency Room waiting room so patients can play with them while they wait or during their stay in the hospital.

The Scouts also organized the Front-Cover Coloring Contest with the help of Patricia Moisan from the Harborfields Public Library Children’s Room. Skylar Hamann, a fourth-grader at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School, won the contest. She was invited to participate in the presentation of the completed Health & Safety Activity Booklets at Huntington Hospital back in February.

Alexa and Sienna have been in Girl Scouts together since Kindergarten, while Megan joined their Troop in fourth grade. The trio has been Girl Scouts together for four years.

The girls are hoping to raise awareness and educate children about proper Health and Safety through their booklet.

"Now, more than ever, with COVID-19, they feel this is a great idea to help sick children feel a little better," Samantha Condolff, Megan's mother, told Patch.
