3 John Glenn Seniors Earn National Merit Honors

ELWOOD, NY — Three Elwood-John H. Glenn High School seniors have been named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Bella Ronai, Nico Rayo Trager and Avalyn Sclafani are among approximately 34,000 students nationwide recognized for exceptional academic promise, according to the Elwood School District.

The students earned the distinction based on their performance on the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT and ranked among the top 50,000 entrants in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program competition.

“Congratulations to these three students on this well-deserved accomplishment,” Principal Lindsay Fritch said. “It is a true testament to their hard work and perseverance.”
