40 Firefighters Battle Greenlawn House Fire
The blaze was under control within half an hour.

GREENLAWN, NY — Greenlawn firefighters put out a fire at a home on Lantern Street on Saturday night.
The department got the call around 8:45 p.m. and received help from the Huntington Manor and Dix Hills fire departments, according to public information officer Steve Silverman. About 40 firefighters were on the scene with five trucks and had the blaze under control within 30 minutes. The bulk of the fire was on the second floor in the back of the house.
Units were under the direction of Chief Angelo Santomauro, and assistant chiefs Pete Miller and Rich Jones. There were no injuries reported, and the fire is being investigated by the Huntington Town Fire Marshal and Suffolk Police Arson Squad.
