6 Drivers Arrested At Sobriety Checkpoint: Suffolk Police
The checkpoint was part of ongoing holiday crackdown operations targeting alcohol and drug-impaired driving, police say.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Six people were arrested at a sobriety checkpoint in Huntington Station between 11 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, Suffolk police said.
The Suffolk County Police Department was assisted by the New York State Police and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office.
The checkpoint was part of ongoing holiday crackdown operations targeting alcohol and drug-impaired driving. Overall, 448 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

The following people were arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated:
- Joanna Almonte, 41, of Greenlawn.
- Joseph Cavanagh, 47, of Manorville.
- Gerald Sullivan, 45, of Port Jefferson Station.
- Scott Richards, 41, of Huntington Station.
The following people were arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs:

- Denise Morales, 40, of Glen Cove.
- Steven Kolb, 28, of Commack.
They were scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
