6 Town Of Huntington Businesses Sold Vapes Or E-Cigarettes To Minors: Police

Overall, 24 businesses were checked to see if employees were complying with laws preventing the sale of vapes to minors, police say.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — Six people were arrested during an underage vape sales operation in the Town of Huntington on Thursday, Suffolk police said.

Police checked 24 businesses in the township to see if they were selling vapes and e-cigarettes to minors. The investigation came in response to several complaints from community members, according to police.

Employees of the following stores were charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said:

  • Green Leaf Smoke Shop, at 247 Broadway, Greenlawn.
  • Cloud Empire Smoke Shop, at 108 Broadway, Greenlawn.
  • East Northport Smoke Shop, at 250B Larkfield Road, East Northport.

Employees of the following stores were charged with third-degree criminal sale of cannabis, police said:

  • Cigar House Smoke and Vape Shop, at 594 Walt Whitman Road, Melville.
  • Intense Smoke, at 532 Walt Whitman Road, Melville.

An employee of the following store was charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and third-degree criminal sale of cannabis, police said:

  • Nirvana Vape Shop, at 1153A East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington.

All six employees were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in First District
Court in Central Islip on a later date, police said.

Police checked 18 other businesses in the Town of Huntington and found no violations. Of those 18 businesses, three were cited during a previous inspection but were found to be in compliance during this check, police said.
