GREENLAWN, NY — Residents will get their first look at proposed pedestrian and traffic safety improvements along Broadway in Greenlawn during a public meeting next week.

The Town of Huntington and the Greenlawn Civic Association will host an information session on Monday to outline conceptual plans tied to a $650,000 Suffolk County JumpStart Grant.

The Suffolk County JumpStart and JumpSMART programs provide millions in funding for infrastructure, downtown revitalization, and small-business support, largely through the American Rescue Plan Act. JumpStart focuses on capital projects such as infrastructure. At the same time, JumpSMART offers grants for small businesses and nonprofits, including funding for marketing and delivery services through the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce.

Officials said the town worked closely with the civic association and multiple departments to develop the proposed upgrades, which aim to improve safety for both pedestrians and drivers along the busy corridor.

The plans will be presented during the meeting, with community members encouraged to share feedback and ask questions.
