7 Local High School Artists to be Honored at Oheka Garden Party

Some of the students will perform at the Oheka Castle gala on Wednesday.

Seven local high schoolers will be awarded with scholarships to continue their studies in the arts at an Oheka Castle gala on Wednesday.

The Friends of Oheka Garden Party will kick off summer season with hors d’oeuvres, dinner, wine and dessert.

The students will have their artwork displayed at the castle and select students will perform at the gala. Each student will receive a $2,500 to continue his or her studies in the arts.

The following students will be honored:

  • Emily Gallagher— Cold Spring Harbor High School
  • Danielle Holmes— Harborfields High School
  • Alexandra Infranco— Northport High School
  • Marshall Kearse— Half Hollow Hills HS East
  • Chailing Pidd— Northport High School
  • Dana Roach— Walt Whitman High School
  • Daniel Rudin— Half Hollow Hills HS West

The fifteenth annual Garden Party will also honor owner Gary Melius for his achievements as a visionary, philanthropist and a friend. The event serves as Friends of Oheka’s only fundraiser. Funds from the event will raise money for rising artists in the tradition of the Castle’s original owner, Otto Kahn.

Tickets cost $50 for Friends of Oheka Oheka members, $70 for non-members and $100 at the door for all.
