7 Marathons In 7 Days Returns To Huntington For 10th Year Honoring Veterans
A LI runner will run 184+ miles across Long Island, honoring veterans with stops at more than 400 memorial sites, officials say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — A decade-long tribute to veterans returns to Huntington this month as ultra-marathon runner Eva Casale prepares to take on one of Long Island’s most demanding endurance challenges.
Casale and Team E.V.A. (Every Veteran Appreciated) will run 7 marathons in 7 days — more than 184 miles — from April 26 through May 2, honoring veterans, active service members, and fallen heroes across the region.

The journey begins with an opening ceremony at Huntington Town Hall, where local officials, veterans and community members are expected to gather for a ceremonial send-off.

“This journey channels my gift for running into a purpose that truly makes a difference,” Casale said. “With every mile, we honor the brave, remember the fallen and stand in unwavering gratitude for those who have sacrificed so much for all of us.”
Over the course of the week, the team will visit more than 400 “Points of Honor” — including memorials, cemeteries and tribute sites — placing flowers, flags and wreaths along the route.

The route stretches across Long Island, with planned stops in communities including Northport, Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, Brookhaven, Patchogue, Oyster Bay and Bayville. A visit to Long Island National Cemetery is also part of the tribute.

The run will conclude in Glen Cove, Casale’s hometown, where a closing ceremony is planned at City Hall.
By the end of this year’s event, organizers said Team E.V.A. will have logged more than 1,800 miles over the past decade while raising awareness and funds for veteran programs.
“Eva and her team’s journey remind us of our shared values and honors those who sacrifice sometimes so much and gave everything,” Huntington Town Supervisor Ed Smyth said. “Huntington is honored to be the annual kick-off to this event and remains proud to support Eva’s mission.”
