American Technical Ceramics Phase 3 Closing Affects 35 Workers

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — American Technical Ceramics Corp., a Huntington Station-based manufacturer, is expected to lay off 35 employees in the third phase of its closure, according to the New York State Department of Labor. The business is at 1 Norden Lane, Huntington Station.

Employees were notified of the third wave of layoffs Tuesday, and the separations are slated to happen during a two-week period starting June 5. Overall, 157 total employees were or will be impacted. The workers are not represented by a union.

The ceramics company makes components in the RF, microwave and telecommunications industries, according to its website.

Most of the plant's production processes were already relocated to Mexico, Newsday reported, citing federal filings. A small group of production processes would be transferred to Greenville, SC, Newsday reported in July 2019. Remaining production, professional and office staff in Huntington Station were to be laid off.
