HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A spring farm walk in Huntington Station brought together local real estate agents and community supporters to raise thousands of dollars for autism services during World Autism Acceptance Month.
Signature Premier Properties, through its community giving initiative Signature Cares, hosted a private Autism Awareness Farm Walk at ELIJA Farm on April 29, raising $2,775 to support the nonprofit’s programs.
Approximately 50 agents and supporters attended the event, which highlighted the farm’s role in supporting adults and young adults on the autism spectrum through hands-on agricultural and therapeutic programming.
Timed with April’s World Autism Acceptance Month, the walk offered participants a closer look at the farm’s operations, including planting, baking, and other activities designed to build independence, confidence, and community connection.
Founded in 2006, ELIJA Farm opened its physical location in 2016 and has since expanded into a working agricultural and therapeutic community. In 2024, the organization launched an on-site market, allowing visitors to purchase goods grown and produced directly on the property.
Organizers said the funds raised will help sustain and expand the farm’s programming, including initiatives focused on employment opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum.
“ELIJA Farm is building something truly special right here in our own community, and Signature Cares is committed to standing behind an organization that creates real purpose, independence, and confidence for individuals on the autism spectrum,” a representative from Signature Premier Properties said.
Signature Cares is also encouraging continued community support through ELIJA Farm’s upcoming Mother’s Day Flower & Gift Sale. The seasonal event will feature fresh-cut flowers, plants, and handcrafted items made on-site, with proceeds benefiting the farm’s “Fund a Farmer” program, which helps hire and train individuals on the autism spectrum in agricultural roles.
