Bicyclist Airlifted To Hospital After Greenlawn Crash: Police (patch.com) — A 75-year-old bicyclist from Greenlawn was seriously hurt when a Subaru struck him at Butterfield Drive and Pulaski Road, and he was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. Suffolk County police identified the driver as a 22-year-old Huntington Station man and say Second Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the crash.
2. Huntington Motorcyclist Killed In Melville Crash: Police (patch.com) — A 38-year-old motorcyclist from Huntington was killed Friday night when his Ducati struck a Kia on Round Swamp Road in Melville and he was thrown from the bike, which then caught fire. Suffolk police impounded both vehicles and are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Second Squad detectives.
3. Knicks NBA Finals run gives Long Island businesses a boost (newsday.com) — Knicks playoff fever is boosting business across Long Island, and even a Huntington vintage shop says Knicks gear now sells out almost as soon as it hits the racks. From packed sports bars to surging apparel sales and themed cookies and ice cream, local entrepreneurs are cashing in as fans gear up for the NBA Finals.
4. 7-year-old Jor'Dynn Duncan's relatives say they learned about her alleged torture death from caregiver via text message (newsday.com) — Suffolk officials are facing intense scrutiny after a 7-year-old girl’s death in Bayport, with a Huntington Station legislator demanding briefings from Child Protective Services and police on what went wrong. The case, involving a caregiver now charged with murder and a Huntington-based defense attorney, is prompting wider questions about how vulnerable children are monitored across the county.
