HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Kendra Scott will open its second Long Island store this weekend at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station, the company said.
The lifestyle and accessories brand’s Walt Whitman Shops location at 160 Walt Whitman Drive will officially open on July 10. The store is Kendra Scott’s fifth location in New York State, according to the company.
Opening weekend events are scheduled for July 10 and July 11, and will include giveaways, promotions, refreshments and a giveback event benefiting Tri Community & Youth Agency, also known as Tri CYA.
The new store will feature Kendra Scott’s fashion, demi-fine and fine jewelry, as well as its Color Bar design studio, eyewear collection and other brand collections, the company said.
“At Walt Whitman Shops, we are dedicated to providing an unparalleled shopping experience by introducing brands that truly resonate with our Long Island shoppers,” said Maria Cavanagh, director of marketing and business development at Walt Whitman Shops. “Kendra Scott is a fantastic addition to our diverse retail lineup, offering not only trend-forward, quality jewelry, but a uniquely engaging in-store environment. We are thrilled to play a role in their continued expansion and are confident that their distinct blend of accessible luxury and community focus will make them a celebrated addition to our center.”
Kendra Scott was founded in 2002 by Kendra Scott, who serves as founder and executive chairwoman. The Austin-based company said it has donated more than $70 million to philanthropic organizations since 2010.
Opening day festivities begin at 10 a.m. Friday, when the store team, led by Store Manager Jennifer Ventura, opens the doors to customers. The first 20 customers will receive a free customized bracelet from the Color Bar, the company said. Customers who spend $100 or more will receive a free jewelry gift with purchase, while supplies last. Complimentary refreshments will also be served.
On Saturday, the store will host a Kendra Gives Back event from noon to 2 p.m. to benefit Tri CYA, a Huntington-based nonprofit that supports youth and families in Huntington, South Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor.
During the event, Kendra Scott Walt Whitman Shops will donate 20 percent of sales to Tri CYA, the company said. Customers who spend $100 or more during the giveback event will receive a free personalized fashion illustration from artist Sara Stolow, while supplies last. A cotton candy cart from PuffDelights, sips and sweets will also be available.
A group of youth from Tri CYA will also visit the store at noon Saturday to participate in the Color Bar experience, where they will create and customize jewelry with a Kendra Scott stylist. The jewelry will be gifted in-kind to Tri CYA, the company said.
The company said opening weekend promotions include a 2-for-$75 boutique on select styles from July 9 through July 12, while supplies last.
