• 2 Men Wanted After Clothing Theft At Huntington Burlington: Police (patch.com) — Huntington residents are being asked to help Suffolk County police identify two men accused of stealing about $760 in clothing from the Burlington store on New York Avenue back in June. Crime Stoppers has released surveillance images and is offering a cash reward for anonymous tips that lead to an arrest, emphasizing that all information will be kept confidential.
• Long Island Public Arts Festival expands across Suffolk County with landmark exhibitions (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Huntington residents can look forward to a free outdoor art exhibition at Heckscher Park from October 9 to November 1, timed to enhance the Long Island Fall Festival. The Long Island Public Arts Festival will install large-scale artworks, host interactive workshops, and bring regional artists into the park, turning a familiar green space into an open-air gallery right in town.
• One year into Suffolk's waterfront preservation program, 'hard questions' and no 'slam dunk' (newsday.com) — Huntington Town is represented on Suffolk County's new Working Waterfront Preservation Program, which is weighing easements for five historic marinas and boatyards to shield them from redevelopment. The committee, including Huntington's Tom Kehoe, is asking tough financial and land-use questions as it decides how to spend $9.5 million to keep commercial fishing and marine jobs on Long Island's shores.
