Centerport United Methodist Church will bring the great stories of the Bible to life with “The Bible 30-Day Church Experience,” a worship experience corresponding with “The Bible” epic miniseries airing on The History Channel in March.
“We are excited to share this celebration of “The Bible” miniseries with everyone in the surrounding communities,” said the Rev. Chuck Van Houten, pastor of Centerport United Methodist Church. “Our doors are always open to all, but we are extending a special invitation to anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible and experience its power in a unique way to join us for this extraordinary event.”
Centerport United Methodist Church will hold special services each Sunday in March at 10:00 a.m. featuring a sermon delivered by Rev. Van Houten related to “The Bible” episode airing that evening on The History Channel.

On Easter Sunday, March 31, two services will be held, one at 9:00 a.m. and another at 11:00 a.m. During the month of March, CUMC will also host study groups each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. lead by Rev. Van Houten and Assistant Pastor Carol Bloom. A Wednesday afternoon group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Special gifts will be given to those new to CUMC, including a study guide to the miniseries.
Centerport United Methodist Church is one of hundreds of churches nationwide to participate in “The Bible 30-Day Church Experience.” In addition to the sermon series and study program, “The Bible 30-Day Church Experience” features video clips and exclusive licensed content from “The Bible” miniseries produced by Emmy Award winning husband and wife team of Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor) and Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel).
