George Victor Admitted as Shareholder in Accounting Firm

Huntington resident George I. Victor has been admitted as a shareholder in the accounting firm of Giambalvo, Stalzer & Company, CPAs, P. C..

Victor has been associated with the Great River firm since 2009 and established the firm’s Quality Control Department.  His expanded responsibilities as Shareholder place him in charge of the firm's accounting and auditing practice, including monitoring compliance with professional regulatory standards, technical research, oversight of the firm's professional education program, and staff development. Victor’s extensive knowledge and broad range of experience enable the firm to service a wider range of clients with more complex structures and expand the firm’s global services to include serving clients that report under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Victor’s professional associations include the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), where he serves as a member of the NYSSCPA Board of Directors and the Editorial Board of The CPA Journal.  He served as past chair of the NYSSCPA Accounting & Auditing Oversight Committee, SEC Practice Committee, chaired numerous annual conferences, and currently serves on the International Accounting & Auditing Committee, along with various other committees.

An honors graduate of St. John's University, Victor holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State. He is an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York, Department of Accounting and Finance.

Victor was formerly a Partner with the Melville-based accounting firm of Holtz Rubenstein Reminick, and began his career with Coopers & Lybrand (Price Waterhouse Coopers). He is a frequent lecturer before professional groups, speaking on accounting and auditing related topics and is a contributor to many professional journals and periodicals.  He is married with three children.
