
Vitae Restaurant and Wine Bar announces Steven Del Lima as its new executive chef.
Del Lima’s 20 plus years in the restaurant business began after graduating from The Culinary Institute of America in 1993 when he was also class president. Early stints at top Manhattan restaurants included working at Daniel, Cascabel, Le Bernardin, and Giorgio’s of Gramercy, where, in 1997, Zagat named him New York City’s Best Upcoming Chef of Gramercy Park.

In 2000, Del Lima relocated to Long Island. Over the next ten years, he led the kitchens at Clearwater Restaurant in Massapequa; Homestead in Oyster Bay; RSVP Continental Seafood House in Bayville, where he was also owner; Wild Fin Restaurant in Huntington; Black & Blue Seafood Chophouse in Huntington; and, most recently, as founding executive chef, at Perfecto Mundo Latin Fusion Bistro in Commack.
