Another Blaze in Huntington Village
Saturday's fire was the fifth fire in the village since March, officials said. There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters on Saturday, Aug. 16, battled yet another blaze in Huntington Village. It was the fifth fire in the village since March, authorities said.
The Huntington Fire Department responded to a report of fire at the commercial building at 30 Prospect Street at about 3:45 p.m. More than 50 firefighters were on the scene, attacking a fire that began in an outside storage container at the rear of the building, according to officials.

The fire extended into the soffit and attic of the building, with flames showing through the cupola on the roof. Using six trucks, firefighters aggressively attacked the fire, containing the blaze to the attic area. The remainder of the building sustained smoke and water damage, officials said.

The Halesite and Huntington Manor fire departments assisted at the scene while firefighters from Cold Spring Harbor stood by for Huntington during the alarm. Suffolk Fire-Rescue Coordinators were on the scene assisting.
Within an hour, the fire was declared under control by Huntington Fire Chief Robert Berry, assisted by Deputy Chiefs Robert Conroy and Brian Keane.
There were no injuries reported.
Both the Suffolk Police arson squad and Town of Huntington fire marshal are investigating.
Saturday’s incident was the eleventh working fire that the Huntington Fire Department handled this year.
