Attorney Arthur Goldstein Dies at 79

Prominent Huntington attorney Arthur Goldstein, who had practiced law for more than 50 years, died Monday. He was 79.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at I. J. Morris in Deer Park.

He specialized in real estate, zoning and civil litigation. His firm, Goldstein Rubinton Goldstein & Difazio PC, on West Carver Street in Huntington, formed in 1970.

In 1956, he was admitted to the bar after graduating from New York University's School of Law, where he was editor of the law review for three years.  He had earned his bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University in 1953.

Between 1968 and 1970, he served as Huntington's town attorney, and previously had served as a U.S. special attorney. Goldstein was counsel to the .

Active in legal affairs, he served on a variety of bar organization commiteees and led seminars on real estate and zoning issues.

In 1998, he was named the man of the year by the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, and was a past chairman of the Huntington Chamber Foundation.

He was married to his wife, Judith, for 56 years. His survivors include children  Ronald and Gwen Goldstein, and Cynthia and Lee Cohen; grandchildren  Sean Binjomin (Aviva), Ari (Ariella), Rachel and Daniel, great-grandchildren Shmuel, and Leah, and brother, Leonard Goldstein.
