HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Fogo de Chão, a Brazilian steakhouse, announced Friday its plan to open a restaurant in Huntington Station. The eatery will be in the Walt Whitman Shops, though there is no timeframe on when it will open, according to a spokesperson.

The Fogo de Chão menu consists of a variety of hand-carved, fire-roasted meats; including premium dry-aged cuts and Wagyu steaks, chicken, lamb and pork, as well as seafood options, seasonal dishes, and fresh fruits and vegetables on the Market Table. The name of the restaurant translates from Portuguese to "ground fire."

"Fogo offers a unique dining experience that goes beyond a traditional restaurant setting," said Barry McGowan, chief executive officer of Fogo de Chão, via news release. "We’ve been fortunate to be able to bring our experience to New Yorkers for nearly 10 years, and we look forward to soon serving our trademark Brazilian hospitality to guests in Huntington Station, as well."

The offerings feature authentic Brazilian cuisine from steaks to desserts, as the sweets include chocolate brigadeiro, papaya cream and Brazilian-style flan.

A weekday lunch option starting at $15 will be offered in Huntington Station, along with Brazilian-inspired cocktails, award-winning South American wines, premium whiskey and bourbon, and all-day happy hour in both the bar and dining room. The Huntington Station space will also offer to-go and offsite catering.

The new Fogo will mark Long Island's second, following Carle Place. The Huntington Station branch will have more than 300 seats, as well as an open-air outdoor patio.

Fogo's Huntington Station restaurant was designed with GH+A Design Studios. It will feature a bar, lounge, and an authentic churrasco grill in the heart of the dining space. Customers will be able to watch chefs butcher, prepare and grill different cuts of meat over an open flame.

The new Fogo will feature a marble exterior, tall windows, modern chandeliers, natural wood paneling and rich furnishing colors that pay homage to the brand’s Brazilian heritage. The restaurant will also boast a glass-encased wine room displaying many of South America’s finest varietals, and a dry-aged meat cabinet for in-house aging.
