Buddy the Dog Finds Person Who Saved Him Thanks to Patch

A post on Patch helped locate a good Samaritan who rescued a dog hit by a car in Greenlawn.

When Buddy the dog was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Greenlawn last week, two mysterious strangers came to his rescue.

Buddy’s owner Susan Trottere never got the names of the two women who helped Buddy in his time of need, so she made a post on Patch to thank the good Samaritans.

“I want to thank the two wonderful ladies that stopped to help our dog who was a victim of hit and run on Wells Road in Greenlawn on Tuesday. In the chaos of getting him to the hospital we weren’t able to get your names. I hope you see this. Buddy is recovering well and may have lost use of his front left paw but otherwise getting back to his old self.”

The post was shared to the Huntington Patch Facebook page and one of the women saw the post and left a comment.

“Yay! I was the first person to stop and help poor Buddy. I was there when your husband got home. I am thrilled to hear that Buddy is going to be okay. I was going to stop by this week and ask. I was really not sure he was going to make it. Thank god he pulled through! I don’t know who the other woman is who stopped to help but was very grateful she did, especially since many people drove by and looked at me but didn’t stop to help. Yay for people who care and want to help, restores some faith in humanity!”

Another Patch reader left a comment, “This makes me so happy!”

This makes Patch happy too. We hope Buddy makes a full recovery!
