Burglar Targets 2 Huntington Station Businesses: Police

The businesses were just two buildings apart, police say.

A Huntington Station man was arrested Monday night for burglarizing two neighboring New York Avenue businesses, police say.

According to authorities, officers were investigating the cause of broken glass a Hilda’s Hair Salon, located at 1899 New York Ave. in Huntington Station, at 11:39 p.m. when they heard glass breaking at Candy Town Nail Salon, located at 1911 New York Ave.

Officers responded to the store and found Tyrone Stevens, 55, inside the building and placed him under arrest at 11:45 p.m., police say.

Stevens was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and possession of burglar tools. He is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
