The Heckscher Museum of Art

Start your weekend with art! Join us one Saturday each month for a new and exciting interactive gallery tour, hands-on art making, stories, and much more. Both English and Spanish speakers are welcome. Kids will explore a variety of different art materials and techniques as they create open-ended projects and let their imaginations soar! Get creative and make new friends at this program designed specifically for ages five through 10.
On April 25, Art Explorers will make a work of art inspired by George Luks’s painting The Circus Tent, which is full of fun and nostalgia. Participants will use their imaginations to create their own circus tent drawings that open and close and fill them with drawings of exciting acts!

Through these poems, Erica Settino investigates themes such as ancestry and inheritance, facing the unknown, interconnection as the foundation of all of life, and believing in the power of hope as the place from which we can begin again, and again, and again.Limited copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
