Centerport FD Visits Washington Drive Primary School

CENTERPORT, NY — The Centerport Fire Department recently visited the Washington Drive Primary School in the Harborfields School District for Fire Prevention Week, according to P.I.O. Steve Silverman.

Centerport volunteer firefighters talked to kindergartners about fire safety. The children also got an up-close look at the two fire engines that were brought to the school for the event. Assistant Chiefs Andy Heglund and Kyle McLaughlin were on hand with a crew of firefighters to speak to the kids and answer their questions.
