Cocaine Arrest Made After SLA Inspection In Huntington Station: Police
Arrests follow multi-agency inspection on Broadway, police say.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A Huntington Station bar owner and two patrons were charged Friday night during a State Liquor Authority inspection at a local sports bar, according to Suffolk County police.
Second Precinct Crime Section officers, working in conjunction with the New York State Liquor Authority, Town of Huntington Fire Marshal, and Town of Huntington Ordinance Inspector, conducted an SLA inspection at El Cuscatleco, located at 137A Broadway, at around 11:05 p.m., police said.
David Banegas-Rodriguez, 43, of Huntington Station, was charged with disorderly premise, a misdemeanor, police said. He was also issued two tickets for SLA violations.

Two patrons at the bar were arrested for possession of cocaine. William Alas, 49, of Huntington Station, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, police said. Exon Ruano-Contreras, 30, of Huntington Station, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, police said.
Alas was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was scheduled to appear on Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip. Banegas-Rodriguez and Ruano-Contreras were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on March 19.

The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and a Town code enforcement inspector issued four combined building, fire, and code violations to the owner, police said.
