HUNTINGTON, NY — The Huntington Public Library released its October events slate. The library is at 338 Main St., Huntington.

Event: Tai Chi with Joseph Panico
Location: Main Auditorium
Dates: Saturdays, Jan. 6, 13, 20, 27; Feb. 3, 10, 24
Time: 10 - 11 a.m.
Description: Tai Chi is a Chinese form of exercise that helps reduce tension, improve balance, and increase vitality. It incorporates breathing with slow and fluid movements, emphasizing correct posture and body mechanics. By placing our mind on our movements, we start to learn how to control ourselves. Registration required. Open to all. $35 fee for series

Event: Musicology Mondays

Description: Join us for screenings of documentaries of famous musicians. This week is
"Elvis Presley – Elvis: Return to Tupelo," (2008, 91 minutes). The Elvis phenomenon has its roots in his birthplace where Presley began a musical journey that would take him from the wrong side of the tracks in Tupelo through Memphis to worldwide iconic status with interviews,
recordings, photographs and rare home movies. Open to all.

Time: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Description: Join India-trained Yoga Therapist and Teacher Trainer, Danielle Tarantola, for this holistic approach to physical and mental wellness that highlights and guides you through postures, breathing practices and meditation techniques. The practices promote physical and mental flexibility, health, and strength through the lens of the time-tested Yoga philosophy. Participants should be able to get up and down off the floor and be in general good health for this movement-based class. Registration is required. Open to all. $40 fee for series

Event: Tony Bennett & Bill Evans: The Legendary Recordings

Description: With 31 Grammy nominations and seven awards, Bill Evans is regarded as one of the most important and influential jazz pianists of all time. Evans rarely accompanied singers during his career, so when he and Tony Bennett teamed up to record The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album in 1975, it received a lot of attention and has been hailed as one of the greatest jazz duets of all time. The legendary recordings of Tony Bennett and Bill Evans will be performed by pianist Joel Zelnik with vocalist Tony Corrao. Zelnik and Corrao reprise the 47th anniversary of this remarkable collaboration of American Art Song at its finest, by recapturing the virility and expressiveness in these performances. Description: Please join Weathermen Glen and Don of Facebook’s “Islandwide Weather” team for an in-depth discussion of what we can expect this winter and how we can best prepare for winter 2024. Don and Glen have extensive knowledge in the field and have been studying meteorology for a combination of over forty years. Their daily routine of posting forecasts and severe weather systems when they impact Long Island, has gained them more than 63,000 Facebook followers. Islandwide Weather LLC is now a “go-to” Facebook page for many Long Islanders and has become a reliable source for weather information for people’s daily lives.
