Conte Endorses Morrow For Town Board

State Assemblyman Jim Conte announced Monday he is proud to endorse Huntington Bay Mayor Herb Morrow as a candidate for the Huntington Town Board.

"His leadership in Huntington Bay has demonstrated his strength at keeping taxes low and spending under control," said Conte, R-Huntington Station, in a release. "He possesses the kind of common-sense approach which is needed in Town Hall. He will stand up for what is right with the kind of integrity which will set an example for the restoration of faith in local government."
 
Morrow said he has been humbled by the outpouring of support he is receiving from every level during his election efforts. 

"Thank you all and thank you Assemblyman Conte for your continued dedication and service to the citizens of Huntington and the 10th Assembly District," said Morrow in a release.

After moving to Huntington in 1983, Morrow has served on the Huntington Bay Board of Trustees since 1993. He has served as mayor since 1994.

Morrow is running on the Republican line against current Town Board members Glenda Jackson and Susan Berland, both Democrats. Other candidates include Gene Cook, of the GOP and Independents and Conservative lines; and Peter Nichols, a write-in.
