Event: Empire Defensive Driving
Location: Main Meeting Room
Date: Saturday, Dec. 2
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Description: Drivers may reduce up to 4 points on their driving record or receive a 10% discount on vehicle liability, personal injury protection, and collision insurance for three years, and, possibly, a reduction of up to 4 points on your driving record every 18 months. In-person registration required with a non-refundable fee of $30. Checks or money orders should be made payable to: Empire Safety Council.

Description: Join us for a Sunday afternoon holiday concert as Huntington native Paige Patterson performs her crowd-pleasing holiday show with music that revives your memories of a bygone era and restores your faith in the timeless power of music. Classics like "White Christmas," "Santa Baby," and a "Winter Wonderland," will be performed, along with soulful carols such as "Please Come Home for Christmas," "Merry Christmas Baby", and more. Ms. Patterson is a 2021 NYSCA Grant recipient of The Huntington Arts Council. Registration required and open to all.

Event: 4th Annual Community Cookie Exchange
Location: Main Meeting Room
Date: Monday, Dec. 4
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Description: Join us for our Great Community Cookie Exchange! Please bring two dozen, or more, of your favorite signature cookies or dessert bars to share. Submit your recipe by Dec. 1 so that we can make copies for everyone at the event. Submissions will also be included in our Community Dessert Recipe Book. Prizes will be awarded for Most Unique, Prettiest, and Best-Tasting! We will serve hot cocoa and cider. Please email your recipe to info@ huntlib.org or drop it off at the library. A copy of our recipe book will go to each person who registers and attends. Containers will be provided to take home sample cookies. May not be suitable for individuals with allergies. Registration required. Open to all.

Description: Join us for screenings of "Echo in the Canyon" (2018, 82 minutes). A look at the roots of the historic music scene in L.A.'s Laurel Canyon featuring the music of iconic groups such as The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, and The Mamas and the Papas. Open to all.

Event: Jackie Gleason and Holidays with the Honeymooners

Description: The Honeymooners is an iconic television program that has been in syndication for more than 50 years. This film presentation by Lawrence Wolff takes you through the history of the show and includes rare photographs of the show and its stars. After the presentation, you will screen TWO "Lost Honeymooners Holiday" programs as well as a screening of their classic half hour "T’was the Night before Christmas" from the "Classic 39" run of shows. An autograph and book display will be available for viewing. Registration required and open to all.

Description: Beginning the celebration of its 75th anniversary, the Huntington Men’s Chorus will perform a holiday concert offering a medley of seasonal songs, including popular, spiritual, and classical. Conducted by Henry McDonagh III, a three-time Grammy-nominated musician, and accompanied by Edward Kozlowsky, a recently retired music teacher from the Farmingdale School District, this celebratory concert is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
