Cops: Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured in Huntington Station
The shooting occurred Wednesday night, police said.
A shooting left one man dead and another injured in Huntington Station Wednesday night, authorities said.
Suffolk County Police say they responded to a 911 call that a man fired a number of shots at a group of people who were gathered outside of a Huntington Station home on 84 East 9th Street at approximately 9:35 p.m.
According to detectives, Daniel Carbajal, 25, of Huntington Station was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Anthony Napolitano, 21, of Huntington Station, was taken via Huntington Community Ambulance to Huntington Hospital with a non-life threatening injury to his leg.

No one else was injured in the shooting, police said.
The shooter fired two more shots at the house and then fled on foot southbound on Varney Avenue, police said.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
