Cops: Man Arrested in Huntington Station for Robbing Nearby Bank
After robbing a bank in East Northport, the man took a taxi to Walt Whitman mall, where he was later arrested, police say.

A man was arrested in Huntington Station for robbing a bank Thursday morning in East Northport, authorities said.
Suffolk Police say Nicholas Bono, 26, of East Northport, entered the Roslyn Bank at 580 Larkfield Road, at approximately 10:30 a.m., and passed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied, and Bono fled the bank in a taxi cab that was waiting outside.
Police officers from the Second Precinct subsequently tracked down the taxi cab and discovered the man was dropped off at the Walt Whitman Mall. Officers canvassed the mall and located Bono. He was arrested by Second Precinct Police Officer Jill Leibowitz and Second Precinct Crime Section Officer Lawrence McQuade at approximately 12:20 p.m., police said.

Bono was charged with third-degree robbery.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
