Coronavirus: Town Of Huntington Closes Recreational Facilities
Here's a list of all facilities that closed Thursday due to the new coronavirus, including fields, courts and beach parking lots.
TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — More Town of Huntington facilities were closed to the public Thursday, Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci announced. The closures of recreational facilities come amid the spread of the new coronavirus.
"Thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping prevent the spread of the coronavirus," Lupinacci said in a news release.

The following are now closed to the public:
- Athletic (Grass & Turf) Fields - NEW
- Baseball Fields - NEW
- Basketball Courts
- Beach Parking Lots - NEW
- Bocce Courts - NEW
- Dix Hills Park (including Golf Course, Ice Rink and Trails) - NEW
- Pickle Ball Courts - NEW
- Playgrounds
- Skate Parks - NEW
The following are open to the public while social distancing guidelines are met (excluding amenities closed to the public):

- Beaches (Parking Lots Closed)
- Crab Meadow Golf Course
- Parks (excluding Dix Hills Park)
- Tennis Courts
- Trails (excluding those at Dix Hills Park)
As of Friday morning, there were 10,154 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Suffolk County, an increase of 1,408 from Thursday night, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. There are 1,423 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Town of Huntington.
Town officials ask residents to report unsafe behavior seen on Town property directly to Public Safety's 24-Hour Emergency Hotline at 631-351-3234, so patrols can respond immediately.
