- Huntington Councilwoman Joan Cergol will not seek re-election in November. Cergol has served for five years on the Huntington Town Council. "My twenty-one years’ work in Huntington has challenged me to solve resident, business and government problems ranging from run of the mill to monumental," Cergol wrote. "I am enormously proud of being a figure in government for all of those years that so many have felt comfortable reaching out for because they were told I was accessible and effective. This feedback has deeply humbled me." (Huntington Patch)

- A man is accused of stealing $1,600 worth of jeans from Old Navy in Commack. The man allegedly stole 60 pairs of jeans from the store on Nov. 1, police said. There is a photo of the man in the link and police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Patch)
- "Happy Gilmore" and "The Godfather Part II" are playing this month at Cinema Arts Centre. Those are the two big movies playing but there is a full list of events and showings you can check out in the link. (Greater Long Island)
