Dancing With The Stars Couple To Hold Wedding At Oheka Castle

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd will celebrate with 300 of their closest friends this summer, reports say.

Dancing With The Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd will have their fairytale wedding at Oheka Castle in Huntington, according to multiple reports.

Chmerkovskiy told ABC News he expects to invite about 300 guests for when he ties the knot at the historic castle this summer.

"We're going to have [Oheka] for two days,” he told the publication. “They're closing the whole hotel. It's going to be unbelievable."

According to a New York Daily News article in 2013, Chmerkovskiy has family in Huntington. The professional ballroom dancer and his family, including fellow Dancing With The Stars pro and brother Val Chmerkovskiy, immigrated from Ukraine to Brooklyn in 1994, according to the New York Times.

He told ABC News he always knew he wanted to get married at Oheka Castle after first seeing it when he immigrated to America. “And now it’s happening,” he told the publication.

The Dancing With The Stars couple began dating in 2012, broke up in 2013, reunited in 2014 and became engaged on stage during a “Sway: A Dance Trilogy” performancein December 2015. Their son Shai Aleksander was born in January 2017.

On Season 24 of Dancing With The Stars, Chmerkovskiy, 37, is teamed up with Beyonce’s former backup dancer Heather Morris while Murgatroyd, 30, is partnered with Nick Viall, the most recent star of “The Bachelor” who is newly engaged.

Oheka is often in the spotlight. Taylor Swift filmed her “Blank Space” music video at the castle in 2014 while Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers was married there in 2009. And many a film has been shot there, including “Citizen Kane” in 1941, and the TV series, “Royal Pains.” It is also a popular venue for fundraising events.

Oheka Castle is currently owned by Gary Melius, who made headlines in February 2014 after he was shot in the head by a masked gunman. Melius, a political donor, survived, and no arrests have been made in the shooting.
