Dear Neighbor,
I'm writing to let you know that I am running for office --NY State Senate in District 5, and I want to tell you why I am running. I am not a politician. I am a mother, a real estate salesperson, a substitute teacher and an activist. I became politically involved when I lost my 15 year old daughter in 2003 due to the pharmaceutical medication, Zoloft. After she committed suicide I started to dig and found out quite a few things over the years.
Apparently our government is in bed with corporations and they are being pandered to --everything from big pharma to our educational system with the common core standards to our food system with GMO food and Monsanto compromising our food system. We need to stop thinking that the government is there to take care of us and start to take matters into our own hands. We have an Assembly and Senate that have voted against the Constitution time and time again. There were 533 Bills and Resolutions on Long Island alone in 2013. What do they want to infringe upon next? I just read where our NY State legislature will begin taking away the driver’s license of citizens who owe $10,000 or more on their income taxes --so they want to take away the ability of citizens to drive to work to pay the taxes? We have a bill in NY State right now that wants to mandate the Gardasil vaccine to all children born after 1996 WITHOUT parental consent?? Now they want to give psychological testing to all children before entering school?? Have you read about how the children are reacting to and suffering from Common Core Education? The SAFE Act was put in place to infringe on our 2nd Amendment after Sandy Hook --it was rushed to vote in the middle of the night -- yet they didn't bother to even talk about the fact that pharmaceutical medications may have had something to with most of the school shootings that are taking place in this country. (You might take notice that none of the legislators EVER speak against Big Pharma!)
So what are these legislators thinking? Better yet, who are they working for? It's supposed to be us they are working for ---but most of them appear to own stock in many of the companies they pander to or give lobbyist what they want over the wishes of the constituents they promised to work for when they were voted in. You can find out a ton of information about your legislators by going to www.opensecrets.org everything from who donated to them to what stock the Congressional legislators own etc.
Being an ordinary citizen I do not have the money to compete with 18 year incumbent, Carl Marcellino. He is a very nice man but it's time for a change in this state. WE need activist to run for office. Mothers and Fathers and people who care about what's going into our bodies and that our children won't suffer at the hands of corporations. This is why I am writing you this letter and putting it in the doorways or sending it out to groups online of every single resident in District 5. It is what I can afford to do so that you know who I am and why I am running for office. Please help me to get into office so I can start repealing and nullifying some of these liberty infringing laws --and stop making new ones!
Something has got to give. If we don't take the power back from career legislators who pander to everyone but us --we will never see liberty again in our life time and our children will suffer.
