It’s that time of year again, get out your walking shoes and traverse the cultural landscape of Huntington! The annual Hunt Around Huntington scavenger hunt will run July 1-September 5 this year, giving history hunters the Labor Day weekend to complete the treasure map. If you live in or near the Town of Huntington, do not miss this engaging way to see your town. Local museums and organizations have come together to host this third annual Hunt Around Huntington scavenger hunt by featuring one of their collection items as a “hidden gem” to be found.
Celebrate the Town of Huntington and discover local history by visiting the participating organizations: The Whaling Museum & Education Center, The Heckscher Museum of Art, Northport Historical Society, Huntington Historical Society, Walt Whitman Birthplace, The Cold Spring Harbor Fire House Museum and the Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities. You can pick up a map at any one of the venues.
