Driver Pulled From Fire by Son, Civilians After Huntington Crash
Firefighters successfully tackled the blaze Wednesday.
A vehicle lit up in flames in Huntington after it crashed into a tree on Wednesday at 11:45 a.m., fire officials said.
The driver reportedly suffered a medical emergency and was pulled unconscious from the vehicle by her 18-year-old son and other motorists who had stopped to help near the intersection of Cold Spring Hills Road and Sheridan Street.
Huntington Manor and Cold Spring Harbor firefighters responded to the scene of the accident and tackled the blaze while EMTs from Cold Spring Harbor treated the driver and the passenger. Both passengers were transported to Huntington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
