Bandana Splits with special guests, Hot Sake
UUFH’s own concert series, Last Licks, kicks off our 8th Season on Saturday,
September 24th with a night of humor, fine musicianship and great harmonies when
Brooklyn’s The Bandana Splits take the stage.
The Bandana Splits were
recently formed by Dawn Landes, Lauren Balthrop and Annie Nero. The three
veteran musicians discovered that they shared a love of trio vocal music and
began singing together at parties, ice cream parlors, subway stations and
wherever else the spirit would move them, inspired by groups such as The Boswell
Sisters, The Ronettes and The Caravelles.
Local favorites Hot Sake are
also on the bill. Comprised of Susan DeMasi, Stephen Lombardo and Marc Peper,
Hot Sake is the sound of three musicians playing fun tribute to the songs and
artists they love. The evening begins with a open microphone at 7:30,
followed by Hot Sake at 8, and The Bandana Splits at 8:30.
