Charles R. Holcomb covered the Rockefeller administration for a decade as a legislative correspondent and political reporter in Albany for the Gannett Newspapers. He began his newspaper career as a reporter for the Baltimore Evening Sun before moving to Gannett’s Rochester Times Union. Later he served as publisher of the Ithaca Journal, and then as Director of Communications to the Governor in Hugh L. Carey’s second term in office. He and his wife, Joan, live in Huntington.

Peter Kohler, a Lloyd Harbor resident and Vice President of Editorial Services at Cablevision Systems Corp., is responsible for writing and presenting editorials on Long Island, and also for supervising editorial services in Connecticut. Previously, Kohler worked in varied journalistic and executive capacities for many years in broadcast television. He has received several editorial awards including top honors in the 2002 and 2003 FOLIO Awards, given by the Long Island Coalition for Fair Broadcasting, for best public affairs reporting and best feature story.
