Seminar: Learn How To Protect Yourself Now for Sports Participation Throughout a Lifetime

The Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce, a division of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Dr. Michael A. Kennedy, Board Certified Emergency and Sports Medicine Physician from Expert Medical Care, will sponsor the first Brain Trauma Seminar on Long Island. Scheduled for Thursday evening, October 6 from 7-9 p.m. at Huntington High School, “Brain Trauma and the Athlete” will discuss head injuries in athletes and include a slide presentation titled “On the Field Assessment, Evaluations and Return to Play Criteria.”

Recently, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed a breakthrough Concussion Law because high school students were returning to competition too soon after suffering concussions and this has caused much controversy.  

The distinguished panel joining us includes: Donna Chisholm, PT Pro Sports Physical Therapy; Georgia McCarthy, Director of Athletics Huntington High School; Diego Garcia ATC, CSCS, Head Athletic Trainer Cold Spring Harbor High School; Dr. Jim Wright, Supervisor of Physical Education, Athletics & Recreation Walt Whitman High School;  Carol Rose, Girls Varsity Lacrosse, Northport High School and Paul Lasinski, ATC, Athletic Trainer Harborfields School District and Rick Reichert, Head Football Coach St. Anthony’s High School.
