Finley Middle Schooler Lands Role in Off-Broadway Musical

The 12-year-old actress joins the cast of "Dream Street."

One Huntington middle schooler is already seeing her name in lights.

Chloe Wheeler, who will be a seventh grader at Finley Middle School in the fall, will perform in the Off-Broadway musical “Dream Street” next month.

The 12-year-old actress auditioned in June and found out she landed the feature role of “Sophie” a week later.

“The experience of being in this Off-Broadway show is going to be amazing,” she said. “It’s an incredible show with a very talented cast who I can’t wait to work with.”

Dream Street follows the story of a group of London kids auditioning for a big time West End producer.

Wheeler noted that she goes on a lot of auditions and can relate to the storyline.

“My character is a lot like me,” Wheeler said. “It’s always best to be calm and collected on an audition, and focus your nervous energy on being the best you can be as soon as you enter the audition room. I feel my character, Sophie, is a lot like that.”

Wheeler officially takes the stage in August at The Pearl Theatre on 42nd Street.
