Suffolk County police arrested a middle school teacher Thursday and accused him of sexually abusing a 12-year-old female student in a classroom.
The Huntington school district said, “The teacher has been reassigned to home until such time as the District has completed its internal investigation in coordination with the police authorities.”
Police gave this account: Charles Williams, an English teacher at J. Taylor Finley Middle School, took the victim into a classroom on Jan. 26 so she could make a phone call. While in the classroom, Williams, 67, subjected the student to inappropriate sexual contact.
