Fire Destroys Huntington Station Home, 1 Hospitalized for Burns

The blaze gutted the home Friday afternoon.

One person was hospitalized for burns after a Huntington Station home was taken over by a fire on Friday afternoon.

According to fire officials, Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to the Pidgeon Hill Road home to find a fully involved fire at 2:45 p.m.

About 65 firefighters using 10 trucks were able to get the blaze under control within an hour.

A resident suffered non-life threatening burns and was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.

The Melville, Huntington and Greenlawn Fire Departments and HCFAS provided assistance at the scene, with the Halesite Fire Department standing by at Manor headquarters.

Units at the scene were under the command of Huntington Manor Chiefs Jon Hoffmann, Chuck Brady and Jim Glidden.

The Suffolk County Police Arson Squad and Town of Huntington Fire Marshal also responded to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
