Firefighters Battle South Huntington Basement Fire

Residents of the home were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded to a basement fire in a South Huntington home on Sunday afternoon.

According to fire officials, the Huntington Manor Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire, which was found in the basement of a Beverly Road home around 3 p.m. Residents of the home were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

The Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating the incident.

The Huntington Manor firefighters were assisted by the Melville, Dix Hills, Greenlawn and Huntington fire departments as well as the Huntington Community First Aid Squad. All units were under the command of Huntington Manor Assistant Chiefs Jon Hoffmann and Jim Glidden.
