Firefighters Remove Car's Roof to Rescue Driver in Huntington
The vehicle overturned on its side Tuesday morning, fire officials say.

Firefighters removed the roof of a vehicle to rescue a driver whose vehicle flipped over on its side Tuesday morning near the border of Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor.
According to fire officials, a Nissan Altima struck a utility pole and overturned on its side on Woodbury Road near Tall Tree Court at 8:45 a.m.

Huntington volunteer firefighters responded to the scene and used heavy rescue extrication tools to remove the roof from the car and free the driver.
The driver was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad.

A heavy rescue truck, an engine and 15 firefighters were on the scene under the direction of assistant chiefs Brian Keane and Scott Dodge.
Minutes following the incident, Huntington firefighters responded to a crash up the road.
According to fire officials, a SUV clipped a Suffolk Police car that was blocking the road, and then crashed into a tree at 9:10 a.m. The driver of the SUV was taken to Huntington Hospital.
