Fundraiser Set Up To Support Huntington Widow And Son
Paul Morfino died at 32. A fundraiser was launched to keep his young family financially afloat. Here's how you can help.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Paul Morfino, of Huntington, died at the age of 32 on Sept. 22. He's survived by his wife, Meagan Morfino, and their 2-year-old son.
Paul's heart suddenly stopped beating one night as he was reading a bedtime story to his son, Meagan wrote on a GoFundMe page. His young brother-in-law did CPR until the EMTs arrived, and they got a heartbeat after 40 minutes. While doctors and nurses spent three days trying to keep Paul alive, they couldn't, and Paul died on Meagan's 30th birthday.
However, Paul still managed to immediately save three lives as an organ donor. His gift may yet save "countless others," according to Meagan.

There's no explanation why Paul's heart stopped, and his death is under investigation, Meagan said.
"Paul’s tragic departure puts tremendous strain on his surviving family as he was the main financial provider for his beautiful boy and beloved wife," Meagan wrote.

Any money raised will help keep the young family afloat, continue his son's special needs speech therapy and language schooling, as well as pay medical bills, funeral costs, debt left behind, rent, and other unforeseen expenses.
Here is the link to donate to the Morfino family. More than $51,000 has been raised as of Friday morning.
"Paul Morfino’s genuine kindness and loving dedication to his family will forever live with those who knew him," Meagan said. "He was a truly kind man who wanted nothing more than to make his family happy.
"And for Paul...Go Jets!"
