Greenlawn Fireman's Fair Kicks off This Week

Get ready for food, rides, a parade, games, prizes and more at the state's oldest fair.

A Labor Day tradition since 1906, the upcoming Greenlawn Fireman’s Fair features food, rides, a parade, games and prizes.

The state’s oldest fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 5. The fair will be closed on Sunday.

The traditional end of summer celebration will help raise funds to support the Greenlawn Fire Department.
Parade night begins Thursday at 7 p.m. The celebration starts at Cuba Hill Road and Broadway and continues north on Broadway to Fenwick Street into the fair grounds.

The fair will be held behind Greenlawn Firehouse, located at 23 Boulevard Ave. (off Broadway directly north of the Greenlawn LIRR Station.)

  • Thursday 7-11 p.m.
  • Friday 7-11 p.m.
  • Saturday 6-11 p.m.
  • Monday- 5-11 p.m.

Rain Date: September 10 and 11

Fairgoers have the chance to win this year’s Fireman’s Fair Grand Prize with a $5 donation: a 2016 Dodge Journey Crossover.

Other prizes include a large screen TV, a snowblower and a gas barbecue.
