H-Ton Black History Month Event To Offer Stage Play, Retired Jets

"Martin, Malcolm and Me," a stage play, and retired New York Jets will be featured at a Huntington Black History Month event.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Huntington will have its 33rd Annual Black History Month Celebration next month, and it will feature "Martin, Malcolm and Me," a stage play by JD Lawrence. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School at 155 Lowndes Ave., Huntington Station.

The event program will honor retired New York Jets players Emerson Boozer, Bobby Jackson, Freeman McNeil, and Wesley Walker, according to the Town. The event, sponsored by Empire Auto Group, People’s United Bank, and Health First, will include dinner and a musical performance by Voices of Huntington, a collaboration of several churches within the Town.

Town of Huntington officials, the Department of Human Services and Minority Affairs Division will be joined by New York State and Suffolk County officials, as well as community leaders, for the event.
